New Iberia – A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, April 16, 2019, at St. Peter Catholic Church in New Iberia for Julius Savoy, Jr., 80, who passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2019, in New Iberia.
Entombment will follow in the Holy Family Cemetery.
Rev. William Blanda will be the Celebrant.
A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday from 8:30 am until 1:30 pm at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia.
A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Mr. Savoy was born on October 3, 1938 to the late Julius Savoy, Sr. and Marie Mitchell Savoy. He was the owner of Savoy Audio Services and was a member of the Optimist Club, where he was an organizer of Law Enforcement Week. Mr. Savoy enjoyed volunteering at his church, cooking, and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his daughters, Carrie Savoy Harper and husband Robert of Greenwell Springs, and Bridgett Savoy Marcell of Youngsville; brother, Billy Savoy of New Iberia; sisters, Rita Mae Savoy Thibodeaux of Lydia, Joyce Savoy Broussard and husband Noah of New Iberia; grandchildren, Michael Millette and wife Amanda, Austin Millette and wife Dominique, Chase Harper and wife Sarah, Cody Harper, Zachary Harper, Lexi Marcell, Brittani Marcell; great grandchildren, Evelyn Millette, Jace Millette, Amie Millette, Camden Millette, Kaiden Harper, and Katherine Harper.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Perron Savoy.
