Cecilia A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am, on Friday, October 11, 2013, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia, for June Ruth Guidry Leonard, 79, who passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2013.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Thursday, and continue at 8:00 am until 10:45 am on Friday.
A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Thursday.
Rev. Gary Schexnayder will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Becky Domingue and Polly Leonard. Gift Bearers will be Liza Hammer, Shaye Guidry, Leah Leonard, and Jenna Guilbeaux. Music will be provided by Laura Huval and Albert Berard.
Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia.
June enjoyed going on trips to the casino, playing cards with family and friends, sewing, cooking, and working in her yard. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and friend, who will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her daughter, Robin (Chris) Guilbeaux; three sons, James Chuck (Polly) Leonard, Jackie (Bonnie) Leonard, and Gary (Missy) Leonard; twelve grandchildren, John Stutes, III, James Stutes, Liza Hammer, Casey Stutes, James Leonard, III, Shaye Guidry, Leah Leonard, Jullian Leonard, Cody Guilbeaux, Jenna Guilbeaux, Brennan Leonard, and Braxton Leonard; and eight great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James Cecil Leonard, Sr.; her daughter, Pamela Leonard Stutes; her parents Jean-Batiste and Mozella Blanchard Guidry; three brothers and three sisters.
Pallbearers will be James Chuck Leonard, Jackie Leonard, Gary Leonard, Chris Guilbeaux, John Stutes, and James Stutes.
Honorary pallbearers will be Cody Guilbeaux, Casey Stutes, James Leonard, III, Jullian Leonard, Brennan Leonard, and Braxton Leonard.
