Kalil Joseph Sliman, Jr. passed away peacefully, in his apartment at The Haven at Windemere in Baton Rouge on Saturday, November 24, 2007. Mr. Sliman was 100, a native of New Orleans and a longtime resident of New Iberia. He moved to Baton Rouge in 1985 and will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, who devoted his life to his family.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 26, 2007 at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in New Iberia. Entombment will follow at Holy Family Mausoleum, in New Iberia.
Mr. Sliman is survived by his two daughters, Cynthia Sliman Graves and her husband, John Arthur Graves, and Kay Sliman Morgan and her husband, Dr. Thurman Clyde Morgan, all of Baton Rouge; seven grandchildren, Angelle Graves Hamilton and her husband, Art, of Atlanta, GA, Dr. Kurt William Graves and his wife, Alysia, of Baton Rouge, Ashlyn Adaire Graves, of New Orleans, Todd Christopher Morgan and his wife, Suna, of Baton Rouge, Garret Neal Graves and his wife, Carissa, of Washington, D.C., Kristen Morgan Spring and her husband, Mark, of Baton Rouge, and Katelin Graves Walker and her husband, Lee, of Memphis, TN; and 13 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Amy Vollenweider Sliman; his parents, Kalil Sr. and Emily Ashy Sliman; a sister, Edwige Sliman Stoma; and five brothers, Fred, Amedee, Camile, Phillip, and Theodore; and one grandson, Douglas Scott Morgan.
Pallbearers will be John Graves, Dr. T. C. Morgan, Dr. Kurt Graves, Todd Morgan, Garret Graves, and Mark Spring.
The family would like to express their appreciation to his devoted caregivers, Mary Criswell, Kristy Ardoin, Pat Ford, Lou Hyatt, Donovan Shores, and the staff of Hospice of Baton Rouge.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, November 26, 2007 from 1:00 PM until time of service.
