Loreauville A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am, on Thursday, October 24, 2013, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Loreauville, for Kamryn Elizabeth Dorsey, 10, who passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2013.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 2 pm until 9 pm on Wednesday, and continue on Thursday at 8 am until 10:15 am at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia.
A rosary will be recited by the Knights of Columbus at 6:30 pm on Wednesday.
Rev. Buddy Breaux will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by her grandfather, Earl Price, Sr. Gift Bearers will be Erin, Alicia, and Keri Judice, and Jada Dorsey.
Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery in Loreauville.
Kamryn loved watching her favorite movies, listening to music and singing along, and she also loved dancing and was a dance student for 4 years.
Kamryn enjoyed doing arts and crafts, including painting, drawing, creating mosaics, and building and collecting Build-A-Bears.
She loved her cat, Ashlynn, and spent numerous hours playing with her. Above all else, Kamryn loved and cherished the moments she spent with her family and friends. She will be sadly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her parents, Eddie Dorsey, Jr. and Kathleen Price Dorsey; two sisters, Kayla and Kristyn Dorsey; her paternal grandparents, Eddie and Mary Dorsey, Sr.; and maternal grandparents, Earl and Elizabeth Price, Sr., all of Loreauville.
Pallbearers will be Eddie Dorsey Jr., Vince Dorsey, Clint Dorsey, Lenny Dorsey, and Earl Price Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be Skylar Price, Jaylynn Dorsey, Tyson Chastant, and Bryson Chastant.
Kamryns family would like to thank the community of Loreauville for the love, support, and care during this time throughout her illness. Also special thanks to her doctors and nurses at St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, her Heart of Hospice team, especially Alison Cantrall, and to her special friend, Beth Gondron, for her love and support to Kamryn and her family.
