New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, August 21, 2017, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in New Iberia, for Karen Touchet Carlin, 58, who lost her battle with cancer on Thursday, August 17, 2017. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family.
A gathering of family and friends will be at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia on Sunday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM, and will continue on Monday from 9:00 AM until 1:30 PM.
A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 PM Sunday, led by the Knights of Columbus.
Rev. Garrett Savoie will be the Celebrant.
Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in New Iberia.
Karen Touchet Carlin was born on July 17, 1959 to Barbara Guidry Touchet and the late James Willis Touchet. She was a 1977 graduate of New Iberia Senior High School, and worked as Office Manager and Realtor for Caffery Real Estate for the past 15 years. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, and Realtors' Association. A loving wife and mother, Karen was a kind and soft-spoken lady who enjoyed traveling and "rodaising" with her sisters, but what she cherished most was time spent with her family. She will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched.
She is survived by her loving husband, Terry Carlin; son, Brett Carlin of Baton Rouge; daughter, Cassie Carlin Bourque and husband Jacques of Lafayette; mother, Barbara Touchet; sisters, Gayle Thorne and husband William Thorne, and Brenda Stevens and husband Kyle "Tubby" Stevens; and mother-in-law, Evelyn Carlin, all of New Iberia.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law, James Carlin; and a niece, Kylie Stevens.
Pallbearers will be Brett Carlin, Jacques Bourque, Ross Stevens, Jason Stevens, Kevin Thorne, Grant Thorne, Jeremy Watkins, Ryan Thorne, and Robert Thorne.
Honorary pallbearer is Gavyn Stevens.
