Breaux Bridge - A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, January 27, 2019, at Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge for Kathryne Yvonne Blanchard, 78, who passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at her home surrounded by family.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 9:00 am until 9:00 pm on Saturday and continue on Sunday at 8:00 am until service time at 2:00 pm.
Rev. Gary Schexnayder will officiate at the Memorial Service. Readers will be Leah Duthu and Dayne Francis.
Interment will follow at St. Bernard Mausoleum - No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Kathryne, also known as "Momma K" to most, was born in Alexandria to the late Thomas and Mamie Guinn Treadway. She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing cards with her oilfield friends, listening to gospel music, entertaining, and working in the garden. Kathryne never met a stranger and anyone who met her fell in love with her kind and generous heart. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her sons, Thomas "Scotty" Scott Blanchard and wife Pricisilla and Jonathon "Johnny" Hiram Downs; daughters, Debra Downs LeJeune and husband Bradley, Bonnie Jean Lebouef, Angela Blanchard Francis and husband Delvin, and Christa Blanchard Azalone and husband John; sister, Darlene Richard; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Francis Blanchard; parents, Thomas and Mamie Guinn Treadway; son, Joseph Howard Downs; grandchild, Zach LeJeune; and her brothers, Alec, Jerry, and Danny Treadway.
