Cecilia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 PM, Saturday, June 24, 2023, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia for Kathy Stelly Dugas, 59, who passed away on June 20, 2023, at her residence in Breaux Bridge.

A visitation will take place at the funeral home in Cecilia on Friday from 9:30 AM to 10:00 PM and will continue Saturday from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM.

A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM on Friday.

Rev. Gregory Cormier will officiate at the Funeral Mass.

Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kathy S. Dugas. Born on December 21st, 1963, in Opelousas, Kathy was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Kathy lived a simple yet fulfilling life centered around her family and passions. She was an excellent cook, having spent several years as a dedicated cook at Myran's in Arnaudville where she delighted patrons with her delicious meals. Kathy's home-cooked meals were always prepared with love for her family and friends. Kathy enjoyed fishing, shopping trips at the Jockey Lot and spending time outdoors surrounded by nature's beauty.

Despite her humble nature, Kathy's proudest accomplishment was undoubtedly her family. She adored being a mother and embraced every challenge that came with it. Her love for her children knew no bounds and she instilled within them an unbreakable bond that would last a lifetime.

She is survived by her daughter, Amy Dugas Quebedeaux (Caleb); son, Dustin Dugas; grandchild, Logan Quebedeaux; brothers, Dwayne Stelly and Ricky Stelly; and sisters, Mary Ann Lalonde and Vickie Taylor.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Dale Dugas; parents, Joseph Stelly, Jr. and Marie Edna Savoie LaGrange.

Pallbearers will be Dwayne Stelly, Ricky Stelly, Chad Miller, Anthony Stelly, Nicholas Stelly, and Toby Stelly.  

Honorary pallbearers will be Dustin Dugas and Logan Quebedeaux.
