Katie Sims Milton Walker

New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 5, 2020, at St. Edward Catholic Church in New Iberia for Katie Sims Milton Walker, 80, who passed away on Saturday, November 28, 2020, in New Iberia. Entombment will follow at the church cemetery. Rev. Canon, A. Gerard Jordan will be the Celebrant. A gathering of family and friends will be at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm on Saturday. Any friends attending the funeral are asked to go to church starting at 12:00 pm to have your temperature taken before entering. Masks are mandatory. Katie was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana on July 19, 1940 to the late Roy Sims, Sr. and Lizzie Wilfred Sims-Ceaser. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized into the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Lake Charles. She graduated from W.O. Boston High School in Lake Charles. Katie always had a servant's heart and as her godparents, Wilbert and Gladys C. Fletcher began to age, she relocated her family from Chicago, Illinois to New Iberia, Louisiana where she met her beloved husband, Phillip Walker. They were married for 37 years. Katie was the secretary at Fletcher's Funeral Home for 35 years. She was a fantastic wife, mother, sister and friend. She loved to cook, read and shop for her grandkids. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 37 years, Phillip Walker of New Iberia; three sons, Dino (Vee) Milton, Sr. of New Iberia, Tyrone (Sue) Milton of New Iberia, Jerome (Dian) Milton of Houston; two daughters, Terri L. Milton of New Iberia, and Lydia Milton of Dallas; four siblings, Carolyn M. Ceaser of Chicago, Willie (Linda) Ceaser, Jr. of Lake Charles, Constance M. (Bobby) Jones of Long Beach, CA, and Dora (Thomas, Sr.) Segura of Lake Charles; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 5 step-children; 13 step-grandchildren; 17 step-great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Alex Steward, Allen Steward; sister-in-law, Judy Ann Walker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Troy Milton; siblings, Roy Sims, Jr., Robert Ceaser, Sr., and Florence Alice Sims Jacobs; mother-in-law, Lue Mae Walker. Pallbearers will be Willie Ceaser, Jr., Ahmad Fontenot, Terrence Smothers, Anthony Ceaser, Greg Jackson, Patrick Steward, and Brandon Jones. Honorary pallbearers are Willie Ceasar, Sr., Thomas Segura, Sr., Aaron Vallot, Logan Jackson, Xavier Smith, T.J. Milton, Tyrone Milton, Jerome Milton, Orrin J.
