Kenwood J. Miguez

New Iberia - Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, October 17, 2018, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia for Kenwood J. Miguez, 75, who passed away on Sunday, October 14, 2018, in New Iberia. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Bill Melancon will officiate. Readers for the service will be Rhonda G. Landry and Brandi Lopez. A gathering of family and friends will be Wednesday from 8:30 am until 1:00 pm. A rosary, led by the Men’s Rosary Group, will be prayed at 11:00 am Wednesday. A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Mr. Miguez was born on August 12, 1943 to the late Andrew and Noelia Gachassin Miguez. He worked at Gulotta’s for 37 years and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching television. Survivors include his wife, Dianna Guidry Miguez of New Iberia; brother, Lonnie P. Migues of New Iberia; sister and godchild, Sandra Lopez of New Iberia; godchildren, Billy J. Guidry of Loreauville, and Miranda Miguez of New Iberia. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, John D. Guidry; mother-in-law, LouMay L. Guidry; godfather, Wilfred Gacahassin; and godmother, Lynn M. Abraham. Pallbearers include Billy J. Guidry, Bill A. Guidry, John Guidry, Taylor L. Dugas, John Michael Landry, and Kip J. Louviere. Honorary pallbearer will be Lonnie Migues. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff and nurses of the Neuro ICU at Ochsner’s Foundation Hospital in New Orleans, the staff and nurses at Iberia Extended Care, Dr. George Cousin, and Hospice of Acadiana for their care and compassion.
