Kenya Tutt Semar

New Iberia - A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, December 31, 2022, at Pellerin Funeral Home, for Kenya Tutt Semar, 45, who passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2022.

Interment will follow in Rosehill Cemetery.

Rev. Keith Landry will officiate.

Visitation will be Friday from 4:30 pm until 9:00 pm at Pellerin Funeral Home and will continue, on Saturday from 8:00 am until 10:00 am.

A rosary, led by the Men’s Rosary Group, will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Friday.

A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Kenya was born on September 18, 1977, and was a 1995 graduate of New Iberia Senior High. She attended LSUE and ULL, and was a co-owner of GEM Industries. An avid bowler and New Orleans Saints fan, Kenya enjoyed cooking, fishing, going to the beach, spending time with her family and friends. She had a deep love for animals, all 11 of her dogs, and for her pig, “Iggy”. Most of all, she loved being "GiGi” to Liam.

Survivors include her husband, Steve "Rooster" Semar; daughters, Ashlee Claire Semar and Emily Mae Semar; parents, Kyng and Nanette Robicheaux Tutt; grandson, Liam James-Thomas Semar; and her grandmother, MaryAnn Robicheaux.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Ashley Elizabeth Tutt; grandparents, Mitchell Robicheaux, Thomas Sidney Tutt, and Frances Fritz Tutt; and Chloe Louise Harrington "Nanny Lou" Fritz, who was like a grandmother to her.

Pallbearers will be Brodie Mire, Kevin Bijou, Ryan Gaspard, Corey DeRouen, Irvin “Peanut” Guillotte, Kevin “Gerard” Boutte, and Kevin “Chicken” Romero.

Honorary pallbearers include Liam Semar, Justin Champagne, Joel Bienvenu, Kevin Boutte, Todd DeRouen, Kenneth Louvierre, Claire Louiverre, and Jason Mouton.
