Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., on Saturday, January 9, 2010, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in Breaux Bridge, for Kern Nargassans, 56, who died on Monday, January 4, 2010 at St. Martin Hospital.
Deacon Marcel "Butch" Hebert will conduct the funeral service.
Kern was an avid pool player, having played 8-Ball with the "Pocket Pickers" and the "Cajun Q'z," and 9-Ball with the "9-Ball Slammers." He loved his family and friends very dearly and never met a stranger. Kern was truly one of a kind; he shared a special bond with his cousin, Barry "Hawk" Hughes - the two of them were inseparable. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include his son, Jamie Kern Nargassans, of Breaux Bridge; one sister, Maxine N. Fleming and her husband, Thomas, of Lafayette; and one brother, Kenneth Nargassans and his wife, Carol, of Benton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Maxime "Mac" and Mae Kern Nargassans.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 8 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
A rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. on Saturday morning.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
