Loreauville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, on Friday, February 27, 2009, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Loreauville, for Kevin James Mayea, 38, who passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2009 in New Iberia.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Rev. John G. "Buddy" Breaux will be the Celebrant. Skyla Stansbury and Christina LeMaire will proclaim the readings. Gift Bearers include Victoria Morgan, Starla Stansbury, and Brianna Hebert.
Born on March 29, 1970, in New Iberia, Kevin worked for Sammy Broussard Trucking. He enjoyed bowling and spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his son, Alex Bodin of New Iberia; brother, Aldren Mayea and wife Kay of New Iberia; sisters, Lisa LeMaire and husband Jude, Judith "JuJu" Stansbury, Tamela Gaffney and husband Raymond all of New Iberia; special friend, Kenny Joe Hebert of Alabama; nieces and nephews, Christina, Thomas, Jordan, Victoria, Jansen, Julie, Kacie, Skyla, Starla, and Trinitey.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Allen and Verline Verret Mayea.
A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday from 2:30 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM Thursday. Visitation will continue Friday from 8:00 AM until 10:15 AM.
