A celebration of life will be held for Kim Louise DeRouen Hebert, age 61 @ 2:00 pm on Monday, August 8,2022 at Church on The Rock. Pastor Ryan DeRouen will be the celebrant and will conduct the funeral services. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Kim was received by her Lord and Maker on August 2, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her loving family and friends. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 9:00 on Sunday August 7, 2022 at Pellerin Funeral Home, and will continue on Monday from 8:00 am until 1:15pm.
Kim Louise, a beautiful baby girl was born to the late Myrtle Louise Viator and the Late Walton Joseph DeRouen, JR. on September 17, 1960. She absolutely adored her parents and was grateful for all of her siblings. The Late Wayne Richard DeRouen (Sandra Perkins), Bobby & Sheila DeRouen, The Late Christine DeRouen Miguez and the Late Walter Miguez. Pat DeRouen Bourque and the Late James Bourque. Terry DeRouen Crews and the Late Sammy Crews. Brian and Annette DeRouen. Lisa DeRouen Bailey and Charlie. Kenneth Estilette. Regina DeRouen Darby and Paul. Joe DeRouen and Andee.
She married the love of her life Darrell J Hebert on August 12, 1978. They had a whirlwind marriage and loved each other unconditionally. She gained a whole new family when they were married. Darrell’s parents were Cyril J Hebert and Doris Boutte Hebert and stepmom Nedia Doumit Hebert. They loved spending time with his siblings also. Debra & Johnny Blackwell, Edwin and Stephanie Hebert, Tommy & Debbie Hebert, The late Kerry Hebert. Wanda and RJ Fontenot, Mark and Terrie Hebert, Cindy and Kevin Faughn, Janet Hebert Smith, Freddy and Kathy Doumit, Mary and Sidney Barrilleaux, Chris & Donna Doumit, Steven & Lori Doumit, Phillip & Tammy Doumit, and the late Johnny Doumit.
Kim loved her husband with all of her heart. Their life together wasn’t always perfect, but they were perfect for each other. They were high school sweethearts that God wrote an amazing love story for. The outcome of that love story were her children. She loved them with all of her heart and gave her all to them. A mother’s love that was unstoppable. Brock Hebert (Ram Sharma) & best friend Abdelrahman, Ryan Hebert (Jordan Sinitiere), The Late Justin D. Hebert, Tyler and Kristen Hebert.
Her heart Grew with even more love when she met her grandbabies. They were her whole world. God blessed her beyond measure. Gabrielle Hebert, Paityn Hebert, Charli Hebert, Jasmine Hebert, Gage Hebert, Brooklyn Hebert, Elijah Hebert, and Lincoln Hebert.
She also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews that she adored and loved and prayed for often. She was always willing to open her home to any of them. She also had 2 friends that have been in her life for a very long time, Wanda Pilgrim Meyers and Sharon Pilgrim Scott. They have laughed and cried on many occasions. Kim loved them dearly.
Kim Louise DeRouen Hebert was an amazing woman of God. She loved her entire family deeply and prayed for them often. She had the joy of being a stay at home mom and raising her beautiful family. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to her. She later became employed at Simoneaud’s and she was recently employed by the Iberia Parish School Board as a cafeteria worker. She loved traveling with her husband and spending time with her family making several road trips. The Saint games in New Orleans was one of her favorite places. She loved to cook along with Darrell, but she was always ready for the next crawfish boil to happen with family. Fishing trips with her mom was an all time favorite. Oh, the stories they could tell from the many wonderful memories made watching her mother fish. She devoted much of her time and energy as a caregiver to anyone that needed. She also loved her church family. Going to church was an important part of her life. She had a steadfast faith in her God and that showed in her constant need to make sure her family and friends were aware of where her eternal resting place would be and she invited all of us to join her there.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Faughn, Nick DeRouen, Ryan Hebert, Tyler Hebert, Trey Touchet and David Crews. Honorary pallbearer will be Brock Hebert, Gage Hebert, Bobby DeRouen, Brian DeRouen, Kenneth Estilette and Joe DeRouen.
The family would like to thank the caregivers of Traditions Hospice for their wonderful care and the countless members of her church family and pastors for their continued prayers.
