New Iberia Lambert Hallman Woods, III passed away on Friday, November 14, 2014 at age 48.
Friends are invited to visit and remember Hallman from 10:00 AM until 12 Noon on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at Pellerin Fuenral Home in New Iberia.
Except for short periods, he was a lifelong resident of New Iberia and was a graduate of Catholic High in New Iberia, Loyola University in New Orleans, and Northwestern Louisiana University.
Chef Hallman was well known as the chef at leRosier and was named one of six Best New Chefs in America in 1996 by Food and Wine Magazine. He was widely acclaimed nationally for his culinary excellence and originality. On several occasions, he was invited to prepare special occasion dinners at the James Beard Foundation House in New York City. He also cooked in Chicago, Las Vegas, and Napa Valley. He was featured in numerous publications and videos.
Hallman is survived by his parents, Lambert Hallman Woods, Jr. and MaryBeth Stich Woods, a brother, Stevens Woods of Columbus, Georgia and his family, and a sister, Virginia Woods of Lafayette and her son.
He is also sorely missed by his beloved dog, Gabby.
