Breaux Bridge - A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, August 24, 2018 at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge for Larry Alfred, 49, who passed away on Monday, August 20, 2018.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 10:30 am until time of service.
A rosary will be prayed at 12:00 pm on Friday.
Deacon Scotty Baudoin and Bishop Renella Small will officiate at the Funeral Service. Interment will follow at a later date.
Larry worked as a cook and really enjoyed what he did. He loved getting together with family, cooking, shooting pool, and working on cars. Larry had the kindest heart and would drop everything he was doing to help others in need. He never met a stranger and put others first always. He will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kandi Miller Alfred; sons, Benjamin "Lil Ben" Chavis and spouse Kimberly, and Chris Miller and partner Michael George; daughters, Katelyn Taylor, MaKayla Babb, and Lanayah Alexander; brothers, Jesse Alfred (Alberta T-Neg), Clarence Joseph Alfred, Jr. (Mary Rose), Gordon "G-Money" Alfred, and Rodney Alfred (Monique); sisters, Eva Alfred (Mark), Madeline Alfred, and Catherine Alfred (Ronnie); godchildren, Drayln "Dut" Brooks and Paige Lynn Miller; 2 fur babies, Trouble and Gernie; mother-in-law, Darlene R. Miller; 2nd mother-in-law, Deanna Williams; sisters-in-law, Detra Alexander (Ron), Krystal Duplechin (Paul), Karlie Huizar (John AJ), and Kaitlyn Miller (Casey); brother-in-law, Alton Noel, Jr; grandchildren, Alaiya Shelvin, Bentley Chavis, Rayshaw Benjamin, Rayshyne Benjamin, Tikyra Tezeno, Treylon Lastrapes, and Trinity Benjamin; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Joseph Alfred, Sr.; mother, Alexanderia Woods Alfred; 1st wife, Barbara Chavis Alfred; 1st mother-in-law, Mona Rose Chavis; father-in-law, Charles E. Miller, Jr.; paternal and maternal grandparents; godparents; Maw Maw, Olita Carron; brothers, Charles Alfred, Rufus Alfred, Melvin Alfred, and Clifton Cheyenne Carron; sister, Mable Charles and Shirley Alfred; and nieces, Karen and Kasondra Alfred.
