Larry Guidroz, Sr.

Breaux Bridge - A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge for Larry Guidroz, Sr., 67, who passed away on August 28, 2023 at his residence. 

A visitation will take place at the funeral home in Breaux Bridge on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 from 4:00 pm until 10:00 pm. It will continue on Thursday, August 31, 2023 from 8:00 am until service time. 

Brother David Richmond will officiate at the Funeral Service. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery #2. 

Larry was born on January 23, 1956 in Lafayette. Larry's life was filled with love, adventure, and a generous heart that touched the lives of all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Larry was a true embodiment of strength and resilience. Throughout his life's journey, he faced each challenge head-on with unwavering determination. Larry approached every task with a youthful energy and an indomitable spirit that inspired those around him to do their best.

Larry had many passions in life which brought him immense joy. His deep connection with nature led him to spend countless hours hunting amidst the serene beauty of the great outdoors. A true master of patience and precision in the pursuit of game, Larry's hunting adventures not only provided sustenance but also cherished memories shared with friends and family.

Another great passion that stirred Larry's soul was fishing. Whether it was casting his line into freshwater lakes or venturing out into the vast ocean waves, Larry found solace in the tranquility of this age-old pastime. Many were lucky enough to experience the thrill of reeling in a catch alongside him, creating enduring bonds that will be cherished forever.

Larry's adventurous spirit extended beyond land and water; it carried him on the open road. Riding his motorcycle brought him unmatched exhilaration as he cruised through picturesque landscapes with a sense of freedom only felt on two wheels. The wind against his face and the rumble beneath him spoke to his restless spirit, unleashing an unbridled joy that transcended words.

But above all else, Larry valued his loved ones above everything else. He treasured moments spent surrounded by family and friends, relishing in lively conversations filled with laughter and love. Larry's warm and welcoming nature made him the anchor of every gathering, ensuring that everyone felt included and valued.

Larry's kindness knew no bounds. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need, offering his wisdom and support without hesitation. His selflessness touched the lives of many, leaving an indelible mark on their hearts.

Larry Guidroz, Sr. will forever be remembered as a man of incredible character, someone who embraced life with unmatched enthusiasm. In his absence, he leaves behind a legacy of love, adventure, and compassion that will continue to inspire us all.

He is survived by his children, Danielle Patin (Darryl), Joshua Guidroz (Angel), Nicholas Patin (Brandi), Nicole Guidroz, Larry Guidroz, Jr. and Andrea Guidroz (Jacob); brother, Ricky Guidroz (Lillian); sisters, Lydia Guidry (Joe) and Lisa Guidroz (David); and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Edmond and Elizabeth Taylor Guidroz; son, Dusty Guidroz; brother, Edmond Guidroz, Jr.; great-grandfather, Elias Guidroz; great-grandfather, Bernard Taylor; and nanny, Edna Credeur. 

Pallbearers will be Nicholas "Bubba" Patin, Jacob Cormier, Braddy Guidroz, Ricky Guidroz, Brevin Guidroz and Uriah Patin.

Honorary pallbearers will be David Guidroz and Korbin Cormier.
