Arnaudville - Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon on Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church in Arnaudville, for Larry Guidry, 68, who passed away on Sunday, March 7 2010 at his residence.
Interment will follow at St. John Francis Regis Cemetery in Arnaudville.
Father Keenan Brown will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Con-Celebrants will be Father Bill Ruskoski, Father Gary Schexnayder, and Father Brian Taylor. Scriptures will be read by his daughter-in-law, Mel Guidry, and Regina Pitre, a special friend. The Gift Bearers will be Leah, Tori, Baelyn, and Ethan Guidry.
Mr. Guidry was retired with the State of Louisiana after 35 years of dedicated service. For the last 10 years he was employed with Darby Warehouse of Arnaudville.
A devout Catholic, Larry was very active in his church parish serving as an Usher, a Eucharistic Minister, and an Acolyte, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
An avid outdoorsman, Larry enjoyed fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed cooking and spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years, Annette K. Guidry, of Arnaudville; two sons, Troy A. Guidry and his wife, Mel, of Scott, and Blake J. Guidry and his wife, Nicole, of St. Martinville; his sister, Lile G. Cormier and her husband, Gary, of Port Arthur, TX; six grandchildren, Leah, Blaise, Garrett, Baelyn, Tori, and Ethan Guidry; one great grandchild, Bella Guidry; his mother-in-law, Helen B. Dugas, of Arnaudville; and his former daughter-in-law, Cathy Guidry, of Parks.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude O. and Thelma Hollier Guidry; his brother, Weston Guidry; and his father-in-law, Harold Kidder, Sr.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 3 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Monday and continue at 7 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Monday.
Pallbearers will be Troy A. Guidry, Blake J. Guidry, Blaise Guidry, Garrett Guidry, Johnny Kidder, Joseph Darby, Ronn Kidder, and Barney Richard.
Honorary pallbearers will be John Darby, Myron Richard, Wayne Richard, Craig Latiolais, Larry Latiolais, John Powell, David Robin, Ken Miller, Kerry Miller, Sean Kidder, Tim Robin, and Terry Dugas.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Arnaudville is in charge of arrangements.
