Larry Joseph Guilbeau

New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, November 21, 2018, at St. Edward Church in New Iberia for Larry Joseph Guilbeau, 60, who passed away on Thursday, November 15, 2018, at The Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice in Lafayette. Entombment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery in New Iberia. A gathering of family and friends will be at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Tuesday, and will continue on Wednesday from 8:00 am until 10:00 am. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 pm on Tuesday. Rev. Thomas Vu will be the Celebrant. A resident of New Iberia, Larry Joseph Guilbeau was born in Lafayette, LA on November 13, 1958 to the late Ruby Henry Guilbeau and Joseph Frederick Guilbeau, Sr. He was a Construction Foreman with M. Matt Durand, and enjoyed working, camping, and barbequing. He will be deeply missed. Larry is survived by his loving wife of 14 years (and sweetheart of 25 years), Shirley Broussard Guilbeau; daughters, Monica Boutte and husband Malcolm of Grand Marais, and Alicia Nelson of Lathrop, CA; a son, Alex Nelson and wife Olga of Manteca, CA; a sister, Margie Nell Thibodeaux and husband Dal Byron of Lafayette; grandchildren, Aaron Boutte, Gabriella Nelson, McKenzie Boutte, Ryan Nelson, and Alyssa Nelson; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Frederick Guilbeau, Jr. Pallbearers will be Herman Broussard, Jr., Aaron Boutte, Joseph Guilbeau, Troy Guilbeau, Ashley Thibodeaux, Cedric Guilbeau, Paul Lane.
