St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, July 6, 2012, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Larry Paul Hollier, 68, who passed away on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at his home in St. Martinville. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 5, 2012 and continue on Friday at 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m., at Pellerin Funeral Home in St. Martinville. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 5, 2012. Fr. Rusty Richard, pastor of St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church will conduct the services. Readers are Bethany Duplechain and Charlie Cambre. Serving as gift bearers are Nicholas Gonzales, Ryan Gonzales and Wayne Hollier. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville. Larry retired with Texaco, with over 30 years of service. He started as a cook, worked his way up to a Roustabout, and retired as an Oilfield Gauger. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, cooking and going to the casino every Friday and Saturday night. Larry had a great sense of humor and loved telling jokes to make people laugh. Survivors include his brother Wayne Hollier, several step-children, step-grand and great grand children, and special friends and other family members. He was preceded in death by his wife Euphemie Hollier; his parents, Kliney and Irene Mary Dwyer Hollier; his sister Brenda Ann Hollier; his maternal grandparents Phillip and Ella Degetaire Dwyer, paternal grandparents Cesaire and Leontine Fabre Hollier, four step-children, and numerous aunts and uncles. Pallbearers will be Nicholas Gonzales, Wayne Hollier, T-Don Poirier, Johnny Dwyer, Carl Dwyer and Ralph Dore. Honorary pallbearers will be Ryan Gonzales, Lupe Gouzales, Chuck Cambre, Eric Dwyer, Francis Porrier, Ewell Poirier, Julien 'Junior' Poirier, Donald Poirier, Sr. and Rodney Poirier. Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville is in charge of arrangements.
