Larry Joseph Morvant

New Iberia – Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm, on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at Pellerin Funeral Home, for Larry Joseph Morvant, 79, who passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 3, 2025.

Entombment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Deacon Russell Hayes will officiate.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm. A rosary will be prayed at 1:00 pm.

Mr. Morvant was born on May 24, 1946, to the late Robley and Eunice Menard Morvant, and has been a resident of New Iberia since 1970. He worked for McDermott, Red Fox Industries, and then for Coca Cola, from where he retired. Afterwards, Mr. Morvant worked at Simoneaud’s Grocery for 18 years.

A member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Mr. Morvant enjoyed fishing and going on camping trips with his family and friends. He took great pride in keeping his vehicles clean and spotless. However, his greatest treasure was raising a wonderful family with the love of his life for 61 years, Mildred.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred Perret Morvant; daughters, Kim Chriss (Tracy) and Jennifer Boutte (Shane); grandchildren, Hailey Chriss LaMaison (Jared), Bradley Chriss (Family), Matthew Boutte (Emma-Leigh), and Sarah Boutte (Braize Genest); great grandchildren, Kinslee Genest, Grace Boutte, Landon LaMaison, Jaxon LaMaison, Kennedy LaMaison, and Chase LaMaison; and a brother, John Ray Morvant.

The family would like to give special thanks to New Iberia Manor North and to Hospice of Acadiana, for their care and compassion.
