Larry Allen Poole

New Iberia - Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 am, on Wednesday, June 10, 2015, at Holy Family Cemetery in New Iberia, for Larry Allen Poole, 73, who passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2015, at Residence. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Tuesday and continue on Wednesday at 9:00 am until 10:30 am. Interment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery in New Iberia. Mr. Larry graduated from Arkansas State University with two bachelors degrees. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War. During his service as a first lieutenant in the U.S. Army, he was awarded a Silver Star and Purple Heart. In 2009, he was inducted into the Hall of Fame at Arkansas State University. He also played baseball at Arkansas State University on a scholarship when he attended. Larry enjoyed fishing, gardening, and cherished moments spent with family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Renee Badeaux Poole of New Iberia, LA; two daughters, Celina Bess Poole of Slidell, LA and Devon Regina Poole of New Iberia; two sisters, Patsy Hulett of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Deb Lormand and husband Richard of Nashville, Tennessee; three brothers, Jimmy Poole and wife Carole of Natchez, Mississippi, Jerry Poole and wife Jolene of Kennett, Missouri, and Gaylon Poole of Bonne Terre, Missouri. He is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin "ML" Poole and Irma Bess Poole; three sisters, Robbie Gordon, Betty Williams, and Bessie Jo Gill; three brothers, Marvin Poole, Rayburn Poole, and Hoyet Poole; one niece, Regina Poole. Pallbearers will be Celina Bess Poole, Devon Regina Poole, Gaylon Poole, Jimmy Poole, Robert Duilhet, and Robert Guidry. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Poole, Richard Lormand, Perry Leleux, and Randy Robichaux. Pellerin Funeral Home of New Iberia, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd., New Iberia, LA 70560, (337-365-3331) is in charge of arrangements.
