Lauralyn Picard

St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am, on Saturday, August 15, 2015, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Lauralyn Picard, 12, who passed away on Sunday, August 09, 2015, at Women's & Children's Hospital. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 am on Friday and continue until 10 am on Saturday at Pellerin Funeral Home in St. Martinville. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Friday. Rev. Rusty Richard will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at Methodist Cemetery in St. Martinville. Lauralyn was a 7th grader at Youngsville Middle School and played the Clarinet. She enjoyed singing, dancing, taking selfies, and making people laugh. Lauralyn was very outgoing and would often offer her help to anyone in need. She was loved by everyone she met and will be sadly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her mother, Rochelle Lynn Barras of Youngsville; her father, Shane Joseph Picard; sister, Alexis Ann Smith of St. Martinville; brothers, Dakota Joseph Picard and Bentley Isaiah Picard, both of Youngsville; her maternal grandparents, Patricia Bouton and Kurt Douglas Barras, both of New Iberia; and paternal grandparents, Vickey Jernigan of Charenton, Joe Picard of St. Martinville, and Leo and Dovie Laird of Oakdale. She was preceded in death by maternal great grandparents, JoyRita and Melvin Bouton, and Eunice and Sidney Barras; and paternal great grandparents, Laura and Clovis Talley and Lenox Laird.
