New Iberia ;- Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, on Friday, May 15, 2009, at the Holy Family Mausoleum New Iberia, for Laurence Girouard, 78, who passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2009 in New Iberia. ; Born on June 30, 1931, Mrs. Girouard is a native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, and is a retired nurse, having worked at Dauterive Hospital for over 25 years. She enjoyed cooking, camping, working crossword puzzles, watching old movies, going to the beach, and most of all spending time with her family. ; Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Lloyd Antoine Girouard of New Iberia; son, Scott Anthony Girouard and wife Denise of New Iberia; daughters, Mary Marlene Broussard and husband Bobby Joe Broussard of New Iberia, Paulette Marie Duhe' and husband Tommy of New Iberia, Julie Hulin and husband Murphy of St. Martinville, Penny Hulin and husband Glenn of Zachary, Holly Renee Girouard of New Iberia, Midge Lopez and husband Gary of New Iberia; sisters, Margaret Thibodeaux of New Iberia, Lou Ella Verret of Youngsville, Marie Verret of New Iberia, Elmire Jouette of Lafayette, Millie Filisky and husband John of New Iberia; grandchildren, Casey, Jason, Jacqueline, Kristin, Greg, Sully, Spencer, Ross, Shelley, Lee, Jodie, Jeffrey, Benjamin, Rebecca, Jacob, Si; great grandchildren, Caleb, Cylan, Coy, Michael, Gavin, Jacelyn, Paxton, Anthony, Caitlyn, Brooke, Bradley, Chelsea, Courtney, Ryan, Haley, Alexis, Andrew, Aaron, Kallie, Avery, and Jeffrey. ; She was preceded in death by parents, George Castille, Sr. and Elmire Tauzin Castille; siblings, Raymond Castille, Ellis Castille, Lee Guy Castille, Charles Castille, George Castille, Jr., Eula Mae Courrage; granddaughter, Gabrielle Mary Girouard. ; Pallbearers will be Mrs. Girouard's grandsons, Jason Broussard, Sully Hulin, Spencer Hulin, Lee Hulin, Jeffery Hulin, Benjamin Girouard, Jacob Girouard, and Si Lopez. ; A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday from 12 Noon until 8:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM Thursday.
