Laurence "Larry" M. Barkley Jr.

Breaux Bridge - A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, February 22, 2020, at Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge for Laurence "Larry" M. Barkley Jr., 79, who passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2020, at The Carpenter House St. Joseph Hospice. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 9:00 am until time of memorial service on Saturday. Deacon Marcel "Butch" Hebert will officiate at the Memorial Service. Reader will be Addison Thibodeaux. Laurence, better known as Larry, was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend. He worked in finance for 21 years and was an Ace Hardware owner for 12 years. Larry enjoyed to fish, hunt, and raise horses for his grandkids. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Nelma Use' Barkley; sons, Laurence M. Barkley, III (Laurie), Walter Barkley and Robert Barkley; daughter, Suzanne Barkley Thibodeaux (Neil); brother, Garner Tullis Barkley; grandchildren, Laurence Barkley, IV, Skylar Barkley, Logan Thibodeaux, and Addison Thibodeaux; and great grandchildren, Laurence Barkley, V and Aurora Barkley. He was preceded in death by his parents, Laurence Barkley, Sr and Malcolm McCollough Tullis Barkley; son, John Chadwick Barkley; and one sister, Malcie Berrigan.
