Lawrence Amos Jr. Batiste

Cecilia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, December 17, 2016, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Cecilia for Lawrence Amos, Jr. Batiste, 35, who passed away on Monday, December 12, 2016. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home in Cecilia from 7:00 am until 10:00 am on Saturday. A rosary will be prayed on Saturday. Rev. Neil Pettit will officiate at the Mass of Christian Burial. Gift bearers will be Skylar and Kiera Batiste. Music will be provided by Lloyd Richard. Interment will follow at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Cecilia. Lawrence loved to be with his family and friends, especially with his companion, child, and grandchild. He enjoyed making people laugh. Lawrence will be greatly missed. He is survived by his mother, Patricia Batiste; father, Lawrence Ames; daughter, Brendasia Clay; grandson, Brendtrell Clay; companion, Naomi Guillory; sister, Shatora Batiste; maternal grandmother, Mary Batiste; and paternal grandfather, Leeroy Ames and his spouse Pricilla. He was preceded in death by his brother, Darnell Batiste; sisters, Kristina Batiste and Katrina Batiste; paternal grandmother, Nola Brown; maternal grandfather, Clement Batiste; and uncle, Arthur Batiste. Pallbearers will be Devin Noel, Ethan Rose, Shelton Ames, Clement LeBlanc, Willie Batiste, Thaddeus Benoit, Anthony Edmond, and Terry Landry.
