VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTE New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 PM Thursday, September 10, 2009 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in New Iberia for Lawrence Larry Duhon, Sr., 69, who died Tuesday, September 8, 2009 in Lafayette. Entombment will follow in Holy Family Mausoleum. Rev. Charles Langlois will be the Celebrant. Readers will be Camille Guidry Arsement and Stephan Guidry. Gift bearers include his granddaughters, Jeannine Guidry, Camille Guidry Arsement, Kayln Guidry Akers, Madeline Guidry and Sarah Qaisieh. A lifelong resident of New Iberia, Lawrence worked in the exterminating business for 35 years, retiring from Slug A Bug. He enjoyed raising animals, farming, hunting, crabbing, gardening and most of all cooking for his family. Survivors include his sons, Shawn Duhon and wife Sheila of New Iberia, Lawrence Duhon, Jr. of Abbeville; his daughters, Angela Duhon Qaisieh and husband Nabih of Lafayette, Dawn Duhon Guidry and husband Gary of Abbeville; his companion, Evelyn Morgan of New Iberia; his former wife, Joselyn Jo Duhon of Lafayette; his grandchildren, Craig Guidry, Grant Duhon, Stephan Guidry, Saba Qaisieh, Brandon Duhon, Jeannine Guidry, Camille Guidry Arsement, Kalyn Guidry Akers, Madeline Guidry and Sarah Qaisieh; his step grandson, Houston Cisneros; great grandson, Christopher Arsement; his brothers, Newton Duhon and wife Lorraine of New Iberia, Gerald Duhon and wife Carolyn of Moss Bluff; his sisters, Mable Romero, Grace Maturin and husband Curley, Effie Romero and husband Junius and Susie Richard and husband Jerry, all of New Iberia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Essie and Eronique Hulin Duhon; his daughter, Serena Faye Duhon; his son, Lonnie Warren Duhon; his brothers, Minos, Clarence and Dalton Duhon. Pallbearers will be Lawrence Duhon, Jr., Shawn Duhon, Nabih Qaisieh, Gary Guidry, Craig Guidry and Gerald Duhon. Honorary pallbearers include, Newton Duhon, Grant Duhon, Brandon Duhon, Stephan Guidry, Saba Qaisieh, Clay Good, Robert Good and Chris Champagne. A gathering of family and friends will be Wednesday from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM Wednesday.
