Lawrence J. Robertson, Jr.

St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, July 26, 2008, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Lawrence Joseph Robertson, Jr., 71, who passed away on Monday, July 21, 2008 at his residence. Interment will follow at Mallalieu Methodist Cemetery in St. Martinville. Mr. Robertson was an employee of the City of St. Martinville for many years and was also a master carpenter building custom homes ;with Robert Romero Home Builders. He was a Volunteer Fireman with the St. Martinville Fire Department. Lawrence was once a member of the San Francisco Giants Baseball team Second Farm Club and played on the St. Martinville Mighty Giants Baseball Team. Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Alexander Robertson, of St. Martinville; two sons, Derwin Robertson (Dentrice), of Spring, Texas, and Ramon Robertson (Mondrea), of Katy, Texas; two daughters, Winnifer Stubblefield (Reginald), and Jacinda Fontenette (Jarvis), all of Richmond, Texas; ten brothers, Patrick, Roland, Jackie, Perry, and Edward Robertson, all of St. Martinville, Ricky Robertson, of Cypress Island, John Paul Robertson and Jimmy "James" Robertson of Richmond, California, Daniel Robertson of Fairfield, California, and Collins Robertson of New Iberia ; his sisters, Sharlene Horton of St. Martinville, Theresa Nelson of Orlando, Florida, and Jacqueline Thomas of Lafayette; and five grandchildren, Kyler and Ryan Stubblefield, Roma and Jagger Fontenette, and Logan Robertson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence "Papa Lole" and Edna Prade Robertson; four infant siblings, Patricia, Anthony, Johnny, and Mary Robertson. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 7 a.m. on Saturday and continue until 10:30 a.m. Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville is in charge of arrangements.
