Lee John Breaux

April 16, 1917 — December 18, 2006

Cecilia - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 21, 2006 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia for Lee John Breaux, 89, who died Monday, December 18, 2006 at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette. Entombment will be in St. Joseph Mausoleum in Cecilia. Fr. Paul Broussard, pastor of St. Joseph Church will conduct the services. A native of Lafayette, Lee was born on April 16, 1917 at his home in Rivers Bend Estate on the Vermillion River. During his years, he was a resident of Bueche, La. and Cecilia. He spent his early years as a farmer in Bueche, La. and the later years of his life as a supervisor for Service Paint Company in Baton Rouge. ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ; Mr. Breaux served in the Army of the United States during WWII as staff sergeant. Mr. Breaux enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also loved playing the violin. Survivors include his daughters, Linda Breaux Aertker of Baton Rouge, Rena Breaux Braud and her husband, Austin Dewayne Braud of Denham Springs, and Charmion Rose Breaux and her special friend, Ann Knight of Baton Rouge; her grandchildren, Dr. Robert Joseph Aertker, III and his wife, Jennifer Aertker of Baton Rouge, Dorothy Aertker Ewen and her husband, Mitch Paul Ewen of Baton Rouge and Brennon Lee Braud and his wife, Misty Braud of Plaquemine; her great grandchildren, Elizabeth Reilly Helm, Blayre Elise Braud and Isabella Hadley Ewen. He was preceded in death by his wife, Yolanda Courville Breaux, his parents, Rose Guilbeaux Breaux and Pierre Breaux; his brothers and sisters, Hector Breaux, Eddie Breaux, Dudley Breaux, Gussie Boudreaux, Sadie Robicheaux, Wilbert Breaux, Fannie Montelaro and Joseph Breaux. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm on Wednesday, December 20, 2006 and continue at 9:00 am, Thursday, December 21, 2006 until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or any Veterans Service Organizations, Pellerin Funeral Home of Cecilia is in charge of arrangements.
