Lena Cormier

BreauxBridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. on Saturday, July 30, 2011, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Lena Castille Cormier, 98, who passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2011 at J. Michael Morrow Memorial Nursing Home in Arnaudville. Fr. Louis Allen Breaux will officiate at the funeral Mass. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge. Mrs. Cormier was a lifelong parishioner of St. Bernard Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Altar Society. Survivors include two sons, Leonard Cormier and his wife, Jessie, and Philip W. Cormier and his wife, Deborah; a daughter, Marcella C. Dupuis; two step sons, Paul Cormier and Ames Cormier, Jr.; two step daughters, Anna Belle Borel and Edna Marks; six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; and a host of step grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ames Cormier, Sr.; her parents, Amaide and Dorcianne Thevenet Castille; her son-in-law, Melvin Dupuis; five sisters, Dolly Landry, Norma Arnold, Viola Dwyer, Elaine Dugas, and Germaine Boudreaux; and one brother, Clayton 'Pete' Castille, Sr. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 12 noon until 10 p.m. on Friday and continue on Saturday at 7 a.m. until 8:30 a.m. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. on Friday evening.
