Lena Rita Boudreaux Hebert was born in Avery Island, Louisiana on February 15, 1942, to the late Laurent and Leticia Freyou Boudreaux. She was a wonderful homemaker, and a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, godmother, and friend.
Lena's life was filled with love, joy, and creativity. Her warm smile could brighten the darkest of days, and her kind heart touched the lives of all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Lena was a woman of many talents and interests. In her younger years, she found delight in playing Bourre' and Pokeno with friends and family. She had a special knack for arts and crafts and could often be found adorned in a creative masterpiece. One of Lena's favorite pastimes was decorating for the holidays. She poured her heart into every display, transforming ordinary spaces into magical realms. She also enjoyed making trinket boxes and beaded Christmas ornaments - each one meticulously crafted with love and care. She would eagerly visit hobby and craft stores to gather inspiration for her next project.
Although she loved channeling her creativity into various hobbies, nothing brought Lena more joy than spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren. She treasured every moment shared with them. Lena's unconditional love knew no bounds; she always made sure those around her felt cherished and appreciated.
Ms. Hebert is survived by three daughters, Kim Decoux (Terry), Wanda Romero (Larry), and Ashley Hebert (Corey Bourque); three siblings, Robert Boudreaux (Joyce), Leo Boudreaux (Jane), and Roy Boudreaux (Laura); grandchildren, Katie Decoux (Corbin Hayes), Kelly Decoux (Justin Angers), Lance Brasseaux, Jared Luent (Dr. Richard Nelson), Addisyn Bourque and Carsyn Bourque; step grandchildren, Brad Romero (Kea Bagwell), and Joshua Romero (Jennifer); great-grandson Jonah Angers; step great-grandchildren, Dalyn Romero, Kylan Romero, Brooke Romero, and Blaise Romero; her former husband, Joseph Hebert (Loretta) and their child, Isabella Hebert; and numerous nieces, nephews, and godchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Margueritte Melancon, Gernice Touchet, Godfrey Boudreaux, Sr., and Eve Louviere; and a step-grandson, Matthew Romero.
Pallbearers are Terry Decoux, Larry Romero, Corey Bourque, Lance Brasseaux, Jared Luent, Carsyn Bourque, and Logan Romero.
The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to Landmark of Acadiana and Traditions Hospice for extraordinary care and compassion.
Lena Boudreaux Hebert leaves behind a legacy of love, creativity, and unwavering devotion to her family. While the loss of such a remarkable soul leaves a void in our lives, we find solace in the cherished memories we have shared with her. Lena's spirit will continue to live on through the laughter, joy, and love she brought into this world.
