Catahoula - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am, on Tuesday, August 11, 2015, at St. Rita Catholic Church in Catahoula, for Lena B. Latiolais, 88, who passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2015, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center. At the time of her death she was a resident of River Oaks Retirement Manor of Lafayette.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Dion Hall, 4452 Catahoula Hwy. (Hwy. 96), St. Martinville, LA from 4:00 pm until 10:00 pm on Monday, and continue on Tuesday at 8:00 am until 10:30 am.
A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Monday.
Rev. Richard Fabre will officiate at the Mass of Christian Burial.
Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery in Catahoula.
Lena was a talented seamstress. She liked to do yard work and was very proud of her trumpet lilies and her rose bushes. She was extremely proud of her grandchildren and great grandchildren and all of their accomplishments. She enjoyed cooking big meals for the family on Sundays and during the holidays.
She is survived by her son, Howard T. Latiolais and his wife Rita; grandchildren, Michael Walker, Michelle Kelly and spouse Kim, Bart Latiolais and spouse Jennifer, Kevin Latiolais, Brock Latiolais and spouse Brooke; and great-grandchildren, Jeremiah Kelly, Mackenzie Kelly, twins Maddie and Mia Latiolais, Sawyer Latiolais, and Falyn Latiolais.
She was preceded in death by husband, Howard Latiolais; parents, Fernand and Clothild Blanchard; daughter, Wanda L. Walker; sons, Harvey P. Latiolais and Herman J. Latiolais; grand-daughter, Monique Walker; and her siblings, John, Arthur, Stephen, Lucien, Olden, Nola, May, Amelie, Altia, and Loula.
Pallbearers will be Howard T. Latiolais, Bart Latiolais, Kevin Latiolais, Brock Latiolais, Allen Buford, and Michael Walker.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Latiolais, Jeremiah Kelly, Carol Blanchard, David Buford, and Sidney Guidry.
