Lennette Champagne

Coteau Holmes -Private services will be held at a later date for Lennette Joseph Champagne, 89, who passed away on Monday, April 22, 2024.

A lifelong area resident, Mr. Champagne was born on May 15, 1934, to the late Juliam and Amadia Delahoussaye Champagne. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Army, where he was a paratrooper. Mr. Champagne worked for many years in the oilfield and for Process Printers. He loved growing a garden and sharing it with everyone. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, going to his camp at Lake Fausse Point, the Council on Aging, and watching western movies on the Grit Channel. Mr. Champagne also built many houses and was always willing to help others. He will be deeply missed.

Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Sylvia Miguez Champagne; children, Chad M. Champagne, Dina Champagne, Jana Champagne, Lani C. Martin (Ty), and Lynl Champagne (fiancé, Ross Girouard); sisters, Judy Gassiot and Cheryl Mair (Billy), 11 grandchildren, Sara Scott (Seth), Erica Broussard (Taylor), Seth Champagne, Brance Sonnier (Shaunna), Nicole Seichepine, Chet Martin (Brittany Landry), Sage Martin, Falyn Martin, and Cole Girouard; and 12 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Champagne was preceded in death by a son, Eric J. Champagne; grandsons, Skye Sonnier and Chase Sonnier; and sisters, Anna Belle Martin, Maydelle Champagne, Delta Chataignier, and Monita Tyler.
