Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, March 9, 2024 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church for Leo "Pupe" Davis, 87, who passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at his residence in Breaux Bridge.
A visitation will take place at the funeral home in Breaux Bridge on Saturday from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
A rosary will be prayed at 8:30 AM on Saturday.
Rev. George-Bede Ajuruchi, SSJ will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Alicia Celestine and Amari Gordon. Gift bearers will be Melvin and Darlene Davis.
Burial will follow at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery.
Leo, known to his family and friends as, "Pupe", was born on April 11, 1936, in Breaux Bridge. He was a hard worker and retired with the railroad after 29 years. Leo found joy in the simple pleasures of life, relishing in hunting, watching westerns, and spending quality time with his family and friends, always with his favorite beer in hand. He was a True Friend Member and well known throughout his community. Leo, "Pupe" will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Lillian Paul Davis; children, Melvin Davis (Darlene), Keith Davis (Lawana), Kirk Davis (Kelly), Angelina Celestine (Milton), Melissa Sampy (Patrick), Ramona Davis, and Andrenna Davis (Joseph); 17 grandchildren; and 31 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; and god children, Jenny Paul, Donna Noel, and Judy Singleton.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Zeno and Melissa Reece Davis; son, Albert Davis; siblings, Telesphor Davis, Joseph Davis, Aspazie Batiste, Lucille Peter, Hazel Davis, Felton Davis, Carlton Davis, Mary Carter, and Ethel Gibson; grandson, Kevon Sampy; brothers-in-law, Gregory Sam and Nolan Charles, Sr.; and sisters-in-law, Vivian Narcisse, Lydia Williams, and Mary Mae Paul.
Pallbearers will be Keith Davis, Dwayne Celestine, Trevien Gordon, Thiland Gordon, Markeith Domonter, and Claude Davis.
