Leon Meche

Arnaudville- Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 29, 2005, at St. Francis Regis Catholic Church in Arnaudville for Leon ""Bull"" Meche, 95, who died Wednesday, October 26, 2005 at J. Michael Morrow Nursing Home in Arnaudville. Interment will be in St. Francis Regis Cemetery in Arnaudville. Mr. Meche was a lifelong resident of Arnaudville and a retired farmer. He also had been employed by the Trappey's canning division of Lafayette, the Town of Arnaudville's Water Department, and a part-time U.S. Post Office mail carrier. Survivors include his wife of 75 years, Lucille Babineaux Meche of Arnaudville; his daughters, Mrs. Birdie Courville of Baker, LA and Mrs. Connie Meche Booth of Clarksville, TN; his son, Joseph ""Harris"" Meche of Metairie; twenty-six grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Mrs. Julia Meche of Arnaudville; his sons, L.J. Meche of Arnaudville and Dennis Meche of Lafayette; his parents, Horace and Marie Boutte Meche; and his sister, Ruth Meche. The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 1:00 p.m. ~ 9:00 p.m. on Friday and continue at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Friday evening. Pellerin Funeral Home of Arnaudville is in charge of arrangements.
