Leona Frederick

Cecilia - Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., on Monday, August 30, 2010, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia, for Leona Guilbeau Frederick, 81, who passed away on Friday, August 27, 2010 at Lafayette General Medical Center. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Mausoleum. Father Michael Delcambre will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Leona was a wonderful homemaker who was very maticulous in the way her home was kept up. She was a wonderful cook as well as an excellent baker - sharing many of her delicous treats with her family and friends. She found crocheting to be a very relaxing pastime for her, as she would give many of her handmade creations as gifts. Survivors include her brother, J.C. Guilbeau and his wife, Linda, of Cecilia; and her sister, Nell Landry, of Cecilia. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Albin Frederick; her parents, Clifton and Marie Calais Guilbeau; and a brother, Roger J. Guilbeau. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Sunday and continue at 8 a .m. until 9:45 a.m. on Monday. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Sunday. Pellerin Funeral Home of Cecilia is in charge of arrangements.
