St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2011 at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Leonard 'ToTo' Joseph Pratt, 94, who passed away on Monday, August 8, 2011 at his residence. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville. Leonard Pratt was born to Aspasie and Adolph Pratt in St. Martinville , Louisiana on November 24, 1916. He was the third of six children. He was a lifelong parishioner of Notre Dame Catholic Church. Survivors include one brother, Adolph Joseph Pratt of Liberty, TX, and his sister, Catherine P. Zenon, of Abbeville; and a very special caregiver, Mary Cormier and her husband, Michael. He was preceded in death by his parents, Adolph and Aspasie Rochon Pratt; his brother, Joseph Abel Pratt; and his sisters, Isabelle Pratt Arceneaux and Josephine Pratt Detiege. Mr. Pratt was a veteran of World War II, having served his country in the United States Army from February 26, 1942 until his Honorable Discharge on December 23, 1945. Because of his ability to speak and understand French fluently, he was also utilized as a French interpreter during the war. He received several awards and medals during his enlistment: American Theatre Campaign Award, World War 2 EAME Campaign Medal with Bronze Star and Good Conduct, World War 2 Victory Medal, Sharp Shooter, Engineer with Company 1314th. He was a lifelong parishioner of Notre Dame Catholic Church, where he served as an Usher. An entertainer at heart, he enjoyed bringing joy, laughter, and music into peoples lives, and would often volunteer his time and talent by singing and playing his guitar for the residents at the nursing home. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 7 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
