A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM on Wednesday.

Leonard was born on February 23, 1936, in St. Martinville. For 36 years he served with St. Martinville National Guard Company B 199th Support Battalion, was also a member of the Louisiana National Guard rifle team where he was eligible to attend the Olympics for his marksmanship. When called to duty for Desert Storm, he showed no hesitation to come out of retirement. He took pride in what the flag symbolized...courage, pure intentions, justice, and freedom. He was a part of St. Martin Sheriffs Auxiliary, and president of the Grand Bois hunting club. He retired after 20 plus years working for St. Martin Oil and Gas.

Tin loved to hunt with his camp buddies. He cherished his time with his family and friends. He enjoyed morning and afternoon coffee on the patio with anyone who stopped by, planting tomatoes, and taking trips to the camp on the river. If you didn't find him sitting in his recliner, he was outside either fixing or cleaning something. He had a contagious laugh and big heart. Tin had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, and Granddaddy who will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his son, Thomas Champagne (Michelle); daughters, Nanette Burch (Kevin) and Carmen Castille; grandchildren, Brittni Castille, Brady Burch, Alec Champagne, Blair Delahoussaye and Noelie Castille; great-grandchildren, Annie Castille, Jolie Mae Delahoussaye and Luke Delahoussaye; sister-in-law, Dot Champagne.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Verna Mae "Miss Mamie" LeBlanc Champagne; Father, Anthony B. Champagne; mother, Noelie Menard Champagne; son-in-law, Donald "Danny" Castille; brothers, Lennis "Fwank" Champagne (Shirley), Lionel "Plot" Champagne, and Anthony "Clay" Champagne, Jr.
