Cecilia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 3:00 pm, on Thursday, July 11, 2013, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia, for Leonce Miller, Jr., 69, who passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2013, at Opelousas General Hospital. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 3:00 pm until 10:00 pm on Wednesday, and continue at 7:00 am until 2:45 pm on Thursday. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Wednesday. Rev. Michael Delcambre will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Kimberly Michelle Miller, Teri Ann Arnaud, and Keri Ann Taylor. Gift Bearers will be his three grandchildren. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia. Mr. Miller was a faithful parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church and enjoyed attending church functions. He was a welder by trade and his hobbies included: camping, motorcycle riding, fishing, gardening, working crossword puzzles, and having breakfast at the Waffle House. He is survived by two sons, Kirk James Miller and Robert Earl Miller, both of Cecilia; his brother, George (Bea) Miller of Arnaudville; and three grandchildren, Kimberly Michelle Miller of Lafayette, Braeden Matthew Miller, and Chloe Alysee Miller, both of Cecilia. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 49 years, Sally Berard Miller; his parents, Leonce Miller, Sr. and Etta Oliver Miller; and his sister, Mary Daisy Melancon. Pallbearers will be Kirk J. Miller, Robert E. Miller, Braeden Matthew Miller, Darrell Escoyne, George Miller, and Michael Robin. Honorary pallbearer will be Peter Berard.
