St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, September 1, 2006, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville for Leonie (Ne Ne) Boulet, who died at the age of 100 on Tuesday, August 29, 2006 at Opelousas General Hospital. Entombment will be in St. Michael Mausoleum in St. Martinville. Mrs. Boulet, the former Leonie Bienvenu, was a native of St. Martinville. She was a retired teacher who taught for 35 years at St. Martinville Elementary School. During World War II she was the Principal at Catahoula Elementary when that Principal was called up for the war effort. Ne Ne, as she was known to all, was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was married to Lloyd Honore Boulet, Sr., Superintendent of schools for St. Martin Parish for 47 years. Mrs. Boulet loved to travel, raise beautiful flowers and she loved to laugh. Playing Bouree was her passion. She knew it would be a good day when she won her daily game of Solitare (without cheating) over her morning coffee. Mrs. Boulet was preceded in death by her husband, L.H. Boulet, Sr.,; her parents, J.C. Bienvenu and Estelle Bourdier Bienvenu; one son, Stephen Paul Boulet, LLB; four brothers, Lee "Doone" Bienvenu, James Bienvenu, Alphe Bienvenu, and Raymond Bienvenu; four sisters, Olga B. Kelso, Grace B. Hamilton, Aline Bienvenu and Louise B. Olivier. Mrs. Boulet is survived by one son, L.H. Boulet, Jr., M.D.; seven grandchildren, Stephen Boulet of Palatine, IL, Robert and Brett Boulet of Lafayette, Michelle Boulet of Arnaudville, Elizabeth Boulet of Gainsville, FL, Jennifer Boulet of Gainsville, FL, and Lloyd Boulet, III of Broussard. She is also survived by 5 great grandchildren, Madeline Boulet, Stephen Boulet, III, Andre Boulet, Jordon Boulet and Detmar Aissing. Mrs. Boulet was a long-time member of the Lady's Altar Society, Charter Member of SMART, St. Martin Association of Retired Teachers, St. Martin Parish Library Society, and the National Chapter of the AARP. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 3:30 p.m. ~ 10:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 31, 2006 and continue at 9:00 a.m. on Friday until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pallbearers will be Stephen Boulet, Robert Boulet, Lloyd Boulet, William Lachausse, Shawn Briggs, D.D.S., and Peter Briggs. Honorary pallbearers will be Raymond Bienvenu, Raymond Castille, Gerard Bienvenu and Wilfred Peck. Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville is in charge of arrangements.
