Leora Sinegal

St.Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., on Saturday, December 22, 2012, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Leora Potier Sinegal, 65, who passed away on Friday, December 14, 2012. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 4:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Friday, and continue on Saturday at 7 a.m. until 9:30 a.m., at Pellerin Funeral Home in St. Martinville. A rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. on Friday. Fr. Stanley Jawa will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Dora Bruno and Aldine Simon. Her grandchildren will serve as Gift Bearers. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery in St. Martinville. Leora was a loving and compassionate wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her first love in life was her husband, Harry, and caring for her children and her foster children, all 100+ them. She enjoyed attending weddings and loved cooking and baking feasts for family and friends to enjoy, especially for the holidays. Survivors include two sons, Harry Senegal Jr. of St. Martinville, and Clayton (Sabrina) Sinegal of North Carolina; one daughter, Trisha (Avery) Roy of Houston, TX; his brothers, Milton (Diane) Potier, Leonard (Tanya) Potier, Melvin (Linda) Potier, Albert (Cynthia) Potier, Lyndon (Becky) Potier, and Celton Potier; his sister, Angela Potier Medina; eight grandchildren, Quinntin Senegal, DeMarco Senegal, Dominque Senegal, Demetrius Sinegal, Valencia Roy, Alexander Roy, Carmelo Sinegal, and Lauren Sinegal; and one great grandchild, Kaylin Sinegal. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Peter Sinegal, Sr.; her parents, Wilbert and Marie Anita Potier; and two sisters, Mary Jane Pennier and Marie Louella Anthony. Pallbearers will be Clayton Sinegal, Marcus D. Potier, Junuis Senegal, Mendall Potier, Avery Roy, and Alton J. Senegal, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Harry Senegal, Jr., Albert Potier, Celton Potier, Milton Potier, Sr., Leonard Potier, Melvin Potier, Alexander L. Roy, Linton Potier, and Quinntin Senegal.
