New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Friday, September 2, 2011 at St. Peter Catholic Church for Leota Orsot Sigue, 80 who died Sunday, August 28, 2011 in New Iberia . Entombment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery . Msgr. Ronald Broussard will be the Celebrant. Christine Mire Matherne and Jocelyn Sigue will proclaim the readings. Gift Bearers include Lynette Boudreaux, Cicely Sigue, LaDawn Sigue, Jessica Sigue, Danelle Blue, and Kali Sigue. Born on January 20, 1931 , Mrs. Sigue was a people person who loved spending time with her family and friends, whether talking to them on the phone or visiting with them in person. She also enjoyed her prayer group and her monthly luncheon group. Survivors include her sons, Lloyd J. Sigue, Jr. and wife Lorraine of New Iberia , Floyd G. Sigue, Sr. of New Iberia , Dr. Gerard F. Sigue and wife Candice of Broussard, Gerald E. Sigue of New Iberia; daughters, Jacqueline S. Zenon and husband Eldridge of Abbeville, Linda S. Boudreaux and husband Leroy of New Iberia, Debbie S. Blue and husband Dr. Donald Blue of New Iberia; brothers, Daniel Orsot and wife Marlene of Hayward, CA, Peter Bennett Orsot, Jr., of New Iberia; sister, Goldie Jean Orsot of California; 15 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Lloyd J. Sigue, Sr.; her parents, Peter Bennett Orsot, Sr. and Mabel LaSalle Orsot; and a sister, Genevieve Guigneaux. Pallbearers will be Floyd G. Sigue, Jr., Lyle Jason Boudreaux, Damien Burgess, Donald Blue, II, Joshua A. Sigue, and Brennen Sigue. Honorary pallbearers include George Sigue, Jr., Gabriel Lee Sigue, Sr., Althumus Sigue, Jr., Joseph 'T-Joe' Sigue, Jr., Francis Orsot, Pedro Delahoussaye, Lonnie P. Gradney, Sr., Terry Pellerin, Sr., Coris Jones, and Arnold 'Buddy' Pellerin. A gathering of family and friends will be Friday from 7:00 AM until 10:30 AM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd , in New Iberia . A rosary will be prayed at 9:00 AM Friday.
