New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 11:00 am on Thursday, September 13, 2018, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in New Iberia for Leroy M. Breaux, 86, who passed away on Sunday, September 9, 2018 in New Iberia.
Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery.
Rev. Bill Melancon will be the Celebrant.
A gathering of family and friends will be at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Wednesday, and will continue on Thursday from 9:00 am until 10:30 am.
A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Mr. Breaux was born on January 30,1932 to the late Michel and Anna Jackson Breaux. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Era, and worked in oilfield sales before retirement. He served as Past President of the Council at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, where he was a very active longtime member. He was an avid golfer and Saints fan, a very positive person and exemplary family man. A loving husband, father and grandfather, he will be deeply missed.
Leroy is survived by his wife of 67 years, Una Desormeaux Breaux; son, Steven P. (Ann) Breaux of Broussard; daughter-in-law, Abby Breaux of New Iberia; grandchildren, Jason (Dawn) Breaux of Maurice, Luke Breaux of Lafayette, Dr. Rachel Breaux (fianc Jared Tessier) of Lafayette, and Yates Breaux of Lafayette; great-grandchildren, Josie, Rhett and Grant Breaux; sister, Elsie Armentor of Coteau; brother, Michael Breaux of Nederland, TX; sister-in-law, Jeannine Breaux; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Randal Breaux; brothers, Alvin Breaux and Collins John Breaux; brother-in-law, Sim Armentor; and sisters-in-law, Rona and Lorraine Breaux.
Pallbearers will be Steven P. Breaux, Jason Breaux, Luke Breaux, Yates Breaux, Farrell Armentor, and Sim J. Armentor.
