A resident of New Iberia, Mr. Lancon was born on January 22, 1930 to the late Antoine and Natilia Renard Lancon in Franklin, LA.
Lee was married to Aimee Lasseigne Lançon for over 66 years he was very proud of his 8 children, 23 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren.
Lee retired from the Avery Island salt mine where he worked for 42 years, as a Pan Operator in the evaporating plant. His co-workers always remembered his last day of work when he arrived in a limousine with red carpet service. Years later, when meeting up with his co-workers, they would still remember Lee’s little red ice chest which carried the ice block to treat the crew with hand-shaved sno-balls.
He enjoyed camping with his family, friends and his camping clubs, Sugar N Spice, and Pelican Retirees. He prided himself having traveled to forty-nine states, Canada, and Mexico with his wife. Lee was the owner and photographer of Lee’s Studio. It brought him great joy to meet up with couples, whose wedding he photographed, to tell him how much they enjoyed the pictures he captured, developed, and enlarged himself over 50 years ago.
Survivors include his children, Ken Lancon (Patricia), Bob Lancon (Carla), Dean Lancon (Faye), Joy Texada (Buddy), Shelly Hollier (Wayne), Leslie Lee (Mike), Phyllis Buteau (Craig), and Chris Lancon (Tonia); brother, Leo Paul Lancon; grandchildren, Kevin Lancon (Ashley), Lee Lancon (Mari), Brittany Shelton (Travis), Chad Lancon, Scott Lancon, Jennifer McClain (Jeremy), Jared Lancon (Jamie), Ryan Lancon (Rae), Lindsay Ellsworth (Steven), Scott Texada (Vickie), John Texada (Courtney), Daniel Texada (Erin), Jeffrey Texada, David Lee (Bekah), Ian Lee, Matt Buteau (Arielle); Kellie Beeson (Josh), Lauren Buteau (fiance’ Miguel), Jean-Paul Lancon (Alicia), Jenae Bourque, Henri Lancon (Chloe), and Marieanne Lancon; and a granddaughter-in-law, Brittany Lancon.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Aimee Lasseigne Lancon; parents, Antoine and Natalia Renard Lancon; brother, Louis Lancon; sister, Betty Dugas; grandson, Kyle Lancon; great granddaughter, Britton Lancon; and grandson-in-law, Alex Bourque.
