Cecilia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, February 17, 2018, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Cecilia for Leroy Albert Williams, 74, who passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2018, at The Carpenter House St. Joseph Hospice. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 7:00 am until 10:00 am on Saturday. A rosary will be prayed at 8:00 am on Saturday. Rev. Neil Pettit will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Blake Demouchet and Alayna Jones. Gift Bearers will be Damian Sampay, Jr. and Christian Cook. Interment will follow at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Cecilia. Mr. Williams enjoyed going to the horse races, dancing, playing cards, watching baseball and western movies, and spending time with family and friends. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his sons, Richard Williams and wife Kimberly of Breaux Bridge, Jonathan Joe of Lafayette, and Tremayne Williams of Cecilia; daughters, Cindy Williams of Breaux Bridge, Denise Williams of Breaux Bridge; brothers, Elroy Williams and wife Shelia of Houston, TX, Mitchell Williams, Jr. of Cecilia, Harold Babineaux and wife Marie of Lafayette, Donald Babineaux of Arnaudville, and Herman Babineaux of Leonville; sisters, Mary Semere of Cecilia, Shirley Grant of Houston, TX, Nola Chevalier and husband Wilfred of Arnaudville, and Ethel Boxie and husband Eugene of Sunset; 8 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his fathers, Mitchell Williams, Sr. and Alton Babineaux; mother, Elvina Journet Babineaux; son, Willie Joe; sisters, Judy Chevalier, Beatrice Robicheaux, Della Batiste, Mary Jane Calais, Laura Williams, Genevieve Calais, and Earline Davis; brothers, Steven Babineaux, Rogers Babineaux, Clinton Babineaux, and Nelton Babineaux; and a grandson, Quinton Williams. Pallbearers will be Joey Williams, Themayne Williams, Jonathan Joe, Henry "Bill" Semere, Nasir Muhammad, and Whitney Chevalier Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Williams, Bobby Journet, Elroy Williams, Donald Babineaux, Mitchell Williams Jr., Herman Babineaux, and Wilfred Chevalier.
