Lester Chauffe

Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., on Tuesday, November 22, 2011, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge , for Lester Joseph Chauffe, 94, who passed away on Friday, November 18, 2011 at St. Martin Hospital . Rev. Donald Pousson, will conduct the services. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge . Mr. Chauffe was a member of the United States Army and served in the Pacific theatre during WW II. He landed in the Philippines and later transferred to station Osaka, Japan. Technical Sergeant Chauffe worked in the Motor Pool as a vehicle dispatcher and automotive mechanic. He served with the 68 Replacement Battalion. Survivors include his son, Terry Chauffe and his wife, Gizelle; his daughter, Elaine Mayes and her husband, Darrell; his grandchildren, Donna Gail Chauffe, Shane Chauffe, Kelly Thompson, Brandi Chauffe, Dr. Ryan Chauffe, and Willie Breaux; his numerous great grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Laura Begnaud Chauffe; his parents, Lynn and Irene Pellerin Chauffe; his brother, Edward Chauffe; and his son, Charles Chauffe. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 5 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. on Monday and continue at 12 noon until 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday. A rosary will be recited on Monday evening. Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
