Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, August 16, 2008, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Lester Joseph Perrio, 85, who passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at his residence. Entombment will follow at St. Bernard Mausoleum No. 1 in Breaux Bridge. Fr. Paul LeFleur, pastor of St. Bernard Church, will officiate at the funeral Mass. Mr. Perrio was a veteran of World War II having honorably served his country in the United States Air Force. He was a grocery store owner for 40 years and worked at the University of Louisiana - Lafayette for 10 years. He served as a Eucharistic Minister and Usher for St. Bernard and Our Lady of Fatima Churches and was a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the International Good Neighbor Group. Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Forestier Perrio, of Breaux Bridge; two step daughters, Sarah Lemons and her husband, Danny, of Tennessee, and Pauline Toutcheque and her husband, Chris, of St. Martinville; two step sons, Allen Boudreaux and his wife, Gretchen, and Tommy Boudreaux, all of Lafayette; one sister, Audrey P. Albert and her husband, Douglas, of Breaux Bridge; a sister-in-law, Earline C. Payton, of Duson; a brother-in-law, James Cormier, of Duson; seven grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Octave and Elmire Dumatrait Perrio; his former wife, Gladys Cormier Perrio; and a step son, Tony Boudreaux. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. on Friday and continue at 10:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Deacon Butch Hebert will recite a rosary at 7 p.m. on Friday. Pallbearers will be Chris Toutcheque, Tommy Boudreaux, Allen Boudreaux, Mike Cormier, Bo Cormier and Henry Barker. Honorary pallbearers will be Douglas Albert, James Cormier, Doug Forestier, Charles Cubor and Al Foreman. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Acadiana, 2600 Johnston St., Suite 200, Lafayette, LA 70503-3240. Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
