Coteau - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, October 28, 2015, at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in, for Lillie Mazerole Viator, 91, who passed away on Monday, October 26, 2015, in Coteau. Entombment will follow in the church mausoleum. Rev. Ed Degeyter will be the Celebrant and Rev. Barry Crochet will Con-Celebrate. A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM Tuesday. Visitation will continue on Wednesday from 8:00 AM until 9:15 AM. A native and lifelong area resident, Mrs. Viator was born on October 4, 1924 to Emile and Lucille Arceneaux Mazerole. She enjoyed cooking and loved visiting with people, and was very active in her church. Survivors include her daughters, Gail Williams of Coteau, Vicki Hebert and husband Steve of Coteau; sisters, Joyce Broussard of New Iberia, Nell Durr of Odessa, Delaware; 6 grandchildren, Wendy Lacour and spouse Chad, Laura Williams and spouse Allen, Fred Landry and spouse Ronda, Shon Tarantino and spouse Mike, Nicole Meche, Emily Dodge and spouse Ryan; 14 Great Grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Fred Viator; daughter, Mona Landry; brothers, Alton Mazerole, and Francis Mazerole; sister, Eunice Hobbie; sister-in-law, Winnie Viator; and son-in-law, Geoff Williams. Pallbearers will be Andrew Hebert, Cade Titus, Michael Tarantino, Matthew Landry, Josh Landry, and Aaron Landry. Mrs. Viator's family would like to give special thanks to the late Dr. Kenneth Ritter and his staff, nurses and aids from Professional Home Health, and to Hospice of Acadiana, for their extraordinary care and compassion. They would also like to thank all of her friends and family who visited her during her illness.
