VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTE Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., on Wednesday, December 2, 2009, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Lilly Lanerie Courville, 95, who passed away on Monday, November 30, 2009 at St. Martin Hospital in Breaux Bridge. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 1 in Breaux Bridge. Father Donald Pelous will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Michelle Courville and Nicole Courville. Serving as Gift Bearers are her grandchildren. Mrs. Courville was a devout Catholic and parishioner of St. Bernard Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Perpetual Adoration Society and the Catholic Daughters of America. She was also an alumnus of St. Bernard Catholic School and a member of the V.F.W. She enjoyed baking her "Ti-Gateau Sec" and "Peanut Butter Fudge" for everyone who loved to eat them. Mrs. Courville was a very lovable and hospitable woman and will be warmly remembered by her family and the many friends she's met throughout the years. A fond friendship was shared with "Taunte Rose", whom she had a cup of coffee with everyday for the past 61 years. Survivors include her daughter, Elaine Courville Buckner and her husband, Ivan, of Breaux Bridge; her grandchildren, Tony Courville and wife, Carolyn, and their children, Michelle and Michael; Col. Shane Courville, Air Force, and wife, Rhonda, and their children, Jace and Nicole; Helena Fruge and husband, Jimmy, and their children, Lincoln Fruge, Brandon Scrantz and wife, Lindsey, and their children, BreeAnna and Chanyng Scrantz, Sammy Fruge and husband, Miles Calais, and their daughters, Kamille and Keaton Calais; Suzette O'Connor and her husband, Donald, and their children, Ashley, Abbi, Austin, Anthony, Angelle, Andrew, Mehgan, and Brennan. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alberie Courville; her parents, Auguste and Abelle Hebert Lanerie; a sister, Anne "Connie" Dugas; and a brother, Maurice Lanerie. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Wednesday. A rosary will be recited by Deacon Marcel "Butch" Hebert at 2 p.m. on Wednesday. Pallbearers will be Tony Courville, Col. Shane Courville, Michael Courville, Lincoln Fruge, Brandon Scrantz, and Austin O'Conner. Honorary pallbearers will be Jace Courville and Anthony O'Conner. The family would like to extend special thanks to St. Martin Hospital and staff, Dr. Warren Degatur, Wendy Fuselier, and Karen McFaul, for the many years of wonderful and compassionate care they all gave to her. Also special thanks to Hospice of Acadiana for the care they provided to her during these last few months. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Acadiana, 2600 Johnston St., Ste. 200, Lafayette, LA 70503. Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
