Henderson - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, August 30, 2006, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, in Henderson for Lionel Joseph Hayes, 69, who died Sunday, August 27, 2006 in a Lafayette Hospital. Entombment will be in St. Michael's Mausoleum, in Henderson. Mr. Hayes was the owner of Cajun Seafood Distributors, Inc. for 22 years. He enjoyed family gatherings and going to the casinos. Survivors include his wife, Bernice Robin Hayes of Henderson; daughters, Della Hayes Byron of Henderson, Sally Hayes Huval of Butte La Rose, Rose Hayes of Butte La Rose; sister, Thelma Dupuis of Henderson; brothers, Wilven Hayes of Henderson, Thompson Hayes Jr. of Parks, Michael Hayes of Henderson; 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thompson Hayes Sr. and Ophelia Martin Hayes; granddaughter, Crystal Huval; brothers, Jeffrey, Fred, and Howard Hayes; sister, Elaine Hayes Ray. A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday, from 9:00 AM until time of service. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM Tuesday. Honor to serve, as pallbearers are Miles Huval, Bryan Huval, Berch Byron, Kenneth Huval, Gregory Johnson, and Michael Hayes. Honorary pallbearers include Roy Robin, Wilven Hayes, Thompson Hayes, Jr. and Holden Allemond. Pellerin Funeral Home of Henderson is in charge of arrangements.
