Lionel "Wayne" Richard

Arnaudville- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church honoring the life of Lionel "Wayne" Richard, 74, who passed away on December 14, 2024.

A visitation will take place at the funeral home in Arnaudville on Monday from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM and will continue on Tuesday from 7:00 AM until 12:30 PM.

A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 PM on Monday.

Rev. Travis Abadie will officiate at the funeral mass. Readers will be Ava and Connie Stelly. Gift bearers will be his godchildren Chasity Courville, Andrea Knott and Valerie Stelly.

Burial will follow at St. John Francis Regis Mausoleum.

Wayne was known for his exceptional skills as a welder, working in the oil field industry to provide for his loved ones. His hard work was paralleled by his passion for the outdoors, where he found joy in deer hunting alongside his brothers. The bond they shared at their camp is a treasured memory that will live on in the stories they told and the laughter they shared.

In addition to being a skilled tradesman, Lionel embraced the simplicity of life as a crawfish farmer, often seen on his tractor tending to his beloved crawfish pond. Cooking was another passion of his, as he delighted friends and family with meals prepared from the fruits of his labor. His inventive spirit led him to create and adapt tools in ways that made everyday tasks a little easier, reflecting his ingenuity and resourcefulness.

He is survived by his children, Tiffany (Jeremy) Hollier, Adrienne (Craig, Jr.) Broussard and Alex Richard; brothers, Barney (Jaunita) Richard, Tony (Cheryl) Richard and Myron (Mary) Richard; sisters, Madeline Guidry and Connie (Todd) Stelly; grandchildren, Brent (Macy Landry) Hollier, Landon Hollier and Marley Broussard; as well as his beloved pets.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 36 years, Rose Taylor Richard; parents, Antione and Cecile Stelly Richard.

Pallbearers will be Alex Richard, Jeremy Hollier, Brent Hollier, Landon Hollier, Craig Broussard, Jr., Barney Richard and Myron Richard.

Honorary pallbearers will be Todd Stelly and Tony Richard.
